Foreign espionage was a primary concern for a security team that needed to protect intellectual property and trade secrets from sophisticated and ongoing attempts by dedicated attackers. They needed a solution that would provide continuous visibility at both the network and endpoint layers, and detect previously unseen threats, as well as combat more common threats such as intentional or unintentional dangerous actions by insiders. After evaluating several solutions, they chose Fidelis. Deploying Fidelis XPS appliances allowed them to decode traffic on the fly, supporting detection and prevention of advanced targeted malware with very few false positives.

This SANS What Works Webinar will detail the process the decision makers went through in selecting and deploying the Fidelis solutions and go through lessons learned and future plans. The user interviewed for this case study has requested anonymity to maintain confidentiality. The SANS What Works program can help our security community at large make more informed decisions by encouraging seasoned professionals to share their stories without revealing the name of the organization.
