Overview

This new SANS survey looks closely at the emergence and rapid growth of Industrial IoT (IIoT) systems, including broad-scale connectivity across industry and how well automation, critical control systems, digital/physical infrastructure and accompanying operations are protected against cybersecurity threats.

Speaker Bios

Barbara Filkins

Barbara Filkins, a senior SANS analyst, holds several SANS certifications, including the GSEC, GCIH, GCPM, GLEG and GICSP, the CISSP, and an MS in information security management from the SANS Technology Institute. She has done extensive work in system procurement, vendor selection and vendor negotiations as a systems engineering and infrastructure design consultant. Barbara focuses on issues related to automation--privacy, identity theft and exposure to fraud, plus the legal aspects of enforcing information security in today's mobile and cloud environments, particularly in the health and human services industry, with clients ranging from federal agencies to municipalities and commercial businesses.


Doug Wylie

Doug Wylie directs the SANS Industrials and Infrastructure business portfolio, helping companies fulfill business objectives to manage security risks and develop a security-effective workforce. His lengthy career spans a wide array of industries. He served as Rockwell Automations director of product security risk management, where he founded and led its industrial cyber security and risk management program. Doug works around the world with companies, industry and standards bodies, and government entities to help safeguard converged IT-OT systems from contemporary cyber security threats. He holds the CISSP certification and numerous patents, as well as being an accomplished writer, speaker and presenter.


Barak Perelman

Barak Perelman is the CEO of Indegy. Before founding Indegy, Barak led several multimillion dollar cyber security projects at the IDF and received commendation for this service and achievements. He is a graduate of the elite Talpiot military academy and has over 15 years of hands-on experience in cyber security and protection of critical infrastructures. Perelman holds a B.Sc. in computer science, physics and math, and an MBA from the Tel Aviv University.


Bradford Hegrat

Bradford (Brad) Hegrat is a Principal Director at Accenture Security, where he leads innovation and delivery of industrial and product security programs for global manufacturing clients. Brad is a 20-year industry executive with extensive experience driving cyber security strategy and execution across enterprise, IoT and ICS/SCADA environments. Prior to joining Accenture, Brad was the Director of Industrial Services at IOActive, Inc., where he established and led their successful industrial security practice in the Americas. He also spent 12 years at Rockwell Automation consulting clients on global risk management and security. Brad is an active CISSP and CISM, and holds a number of industrial cloud, security and big data patents.


Wayne Dixon

Wayne Dixon is Director of OT Technology Management at ForeScout Technologies, Inc., where he brings over 20 years of information systems experience to bear in working with customers in retail, manufacturing, energy, government and defense. Wayne provides clients with a unique perspective on how organizations can leverage plans, people and tools to be successful in addressing today’s most complicated cyber issues. Wayne has assisted ForeScout’s largest enterprise customers establish cyber asset protection programs across their campuses, datacenters, cloud and OT networks. Previously he contributed to the development of the U.S. Department of Defense’s, Comply to Connect (C2C) initiative, as well as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation (CDM) program.
