Overview

Cybercrime is an exponentially growing threat to the world's businesses, governments, and citizens. Estimates of the annual impact of cybercrime on the global economy reach as high as $600 billion, and attackers have been easily evading signature-based antivirus solutions for years. Making matters worse, the exponential growth in both connected devices and malware is overwhelming the capacity of enterprise security teams. Organizations are being asked to secure IT, Mobility, IoT, and OT assets all while staying on top of the latest zero-day and polymorphic threats.

Bryan Lares

Seasoned product strategy and product management executive with experience bringing new technologies and businesses to life. I am inspired by working with leading technologist to create innovative new products and leading them to market through strategy and execution.

Currently I am the Director of Security Solutions for SparkCognition. We are successfully building and deploying the world's first cognitive security solution by leveraging an ensemble of machine learning and cognitive computing algorithms to analyze files and provide signature-free security.

Prior to SparkCognition, I was the Global Director of Product Strategy and Advanced Product Planning for Dell's Cloud Client Computing business. Responsible for the overall product strategy and new product pipeline for the Wyse portfolio of thin clients, software and data center appliances for desktop virtualization and cloud computing.


John Pescatore

John Pescatore joined SANS as director of emerging security trends in January 2013 after more than 13 years as lead security analyst for Gartner, 11 years with GTE, and service with both the National Security Agency, where he designed secure voice systems, and the U.S. Secret Service, where he developed secure communications and voice systems "and the occasional ballistic armor installation." John has testified before Congress about cyber security, was named one of the 15 most-influential people in security in 2008 and remains an NSA-certified cryptologic engineer.
