In recent years, the adoption of cloud services has skyrocketed as a direct result of several economic and operational factors, chief among which are the cost saving incentives for organizations, the rapid scalability and flexibility to increase processing power needs, and the ability to provide highly available services and solutions for employees and customers. Organizations that have cloud migration as part of their IT strategy need to ensure that their cyber security staff is adequately equipped to design security countermeasures comparable to those implemented on-premises. The goal if this presentation is to analyze cloud security controls and cloud security deployment models that are purely technical in nature while, at the same time, presenting practical applications to show how such controls can solve real-world problems facing most organizations.
