More About Eva

Profile

Coming from a (UNIX) system administration and networking background, security was always a big consideration for Eva when dealing with internet facing web servers and applications. As such, information security was a natural progression, and she became Senior Pen Tester and Information Security Professional for Canon Europa N.V. ultimately becoming their  Manager Security & Compliancy Operations.

Feeling strongly about the importance of vulnerability management, Eva comes to SANS as a teacher because this topic can make a huge difference in any organization big or small. "Scanning for vulnerabilities is easy, but managing them is an entirely different ballgame. Dealing with the business, people, C-levels, and really make them understand what the underlying issue is, is what will set you apart."

Eva holds numerous certifications including OSCP, GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN, GXPN, GEVA, GMON, GWAPT and CISSP, as well as a SANS Advisory Board member and @Night speaker. She's also been involved in the program commitee of the 2019 FIRST Cyber Threat Intelligence Symposium London and as a member of the advisory board for the 2019 SANS Purple Team Summit.

In her spare time, Eva enjoys spending time with her dog or horse, traveling to beautiful countries for scuba diving and playing CTF's with the amazing group of friends she's met through playing NetWars. The team came in second place at the Tournament of Champions in both Europe and the US in 2019.
