Dr. Roberto H. Bamberger is a Senior Principal Consultant in Microsoft’s Detection and Response Team (DaRT). Dr. Bamberger received his Bachelors of Electrical Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1986 and 1990 respectively. Dr. Bamberger was an Assistant Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and also Director of Computing for the College of Engineering and Architecture at Washington State University. Dr. Bamberger has held a variety of roles during his tenure at Microsoft. Most recently, Dr. Bamberger conducts cybersecurity incident response investigations on behalf of commercial and public sector organizations of all sizes. Dr. Bamberger has investigated incidents ranging from simple business e-mail compromises, ransomware attacks, and Nation-State attributed attacks. Dr. Bamberger was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and a member of the editorial board for the Computer Applications in Engineering Education. In addition, Dr. Bamberger was Assistant Director of the Washington State University Cougar Marching Band.
Dr. Bamberger has served as a reviewer for multiple programs administered by the United States National Science Foundation.
