First Portuguese SANS Cyber Security Training Event To Be Held in Lisbon in October

  • Lisbon, Portugal
  • 10 September 2019

SANS Institute, the global leader in cyber security training and certifications, today announced that it is running its first ever Portuguese cyber security training event in Lisbon in October. SANS Lisbon 2019, which will run from 7th to 12th October at the Hotel Sofitel Lisbon Liberdad, will deliver three of SANS’ globally renowned immersion training courses across the week.

Cyber security professionals will be able attend the six-day immersion training to level up the skills needed to defend their organisations against security breaches and help prevent future cyber attacks.

SANS Institute is the largest and most trusted source of information security training and certification in the world. Providing intensive immersion training, SANS courses are continuously updated so that corporations can defend their systems and networks from cyber attacks.

It is the SANS mission to deliver cutting-edge information security knowledge and skills to all students in order to protect people and assets. And at the heart of everything they do is the SANS promise that students will be able to use the new skills they have learned as soon as they return to work.

One of the courses running during the week is the popular SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling Response.

SANS Principal Instructor Alissa Torres says of the course: “It’s a fun course which introduces students to exploitation models as well as the stages an adversary would move through in order to successfully accomplish a mission. SEC504 is an essential course for anyone without previous experience in the field as it provides a good launching point. Following the course you can then pivot into the fields of cyber defence or digital forensics, or go down the road of SEC560, SEC660 and Exploit Development eventually, all from the foundation stages of SEC504.”

Other courses running during the week include:

SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking - Jorge Orchilles

MGT514: Security Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership - G. Mark Hardy

Students can also attend evening bonus sessions led by SANS Instructors and gain insight into the latest cyber security topics. After their training is complete, they can also extend their SANS course by four months with an OnDemand Bundle, providing the chance to continue learning at their own pace, prior to taking a GIAC certification.
