SANS Institute Launches IT and OT Training Tracks to Strengthen Cyber Defences for Singapore's Enterprises, including Critical Information Infrastructure Sectors

Specialised six-day programmes help cybersecurity practitioners across enterprises strengthen their capabilities, while supporting Critical Information Infrastructure Owners (CIIOs) in developing competencies relevant to the updated Cybersecurity Code of Practice (CCoP) for Critical Information Infrastructure (CII).

Singapore, 13 October 2026 — SANS Institute launched dedicated training tracks, designed for practitioners across enterprises, including CII sectors to strengthen the capabilities of cybersecurity capabilities in managing advanced persistent threats across critical digital and operational environments. Two specialised pathways have been introduced, IT Track: Practitioner Technical Programme (SANS): Advanced Persistent Threat Detection and Response for IT Environment; and OT Track: Practitioner Technical Programme (SANS): Advanced Persistent Threat Detection and Response for OT Environment, to equip practitioners with the expertise needed to defend against evolving cyber threats and enhance organisational resilience. The two tracks are built on SANS Institute’s established courses, FOR508: Advanced Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Digital Forensics and ICS515: ICS Visibility, Detection, and Response.

Beyond skill-building for individual cyber practitioners across enterprises, the tracks are designed to lift the baseline readiness of Singapore’s CII sector as a whole: they help close the visibility gap between enterprise IT and operational systems as CII environments converge, as well as build collective resilience against the evolving threat actors known to target Singapore’s CII.

The programmes come as CIIOs in Singapore face sophisticated attacks, including from state-sponsored threat actors. For CIIOs, the programmes support efforts to develop the cybersecurity competencies of personnel responsible for operating and managing CII systems to perform their roles effectively. The programmes also complement the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore's (CSA) broader efforts to strengthen CII owners' cybersecurity capabilities and resilience through targeted training and competency development.

“As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, cybersecurity practitioners need to continually strengthen their capabilities to detect and respond to cyber threats, such as advanced persistent threats. The Practitioner Technical Programme complements these efforts by providing hands-on training opportunities for practitioners to deepen their technical expertise and apply their skills in realistic scenarios,” said Mr Ong Kok Wee, Assistant Chief Executive, Policy and Corporate Development, CSA.

“We’re proud to work with CSA to support cybersecurity practitioners across enterprises, including Critical Information Infrastructure Owners in strengthening their cybersecurity capabilities. By pairing proven SANS curricula with content shaped to CSA’s specifications, these programmes help organisations ensure the people running critical systems have the skills to keep them secure and resilient,” said Mr Matthias Chia, Regional Director, Southeast and North Asia, SANS Institute.
