  • February 06, 2017

SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced its return to Austin March 27 - April 1 for SANS Pen Test Austin 2017. This unique training event provides InfoSec professionals the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced penetration testers in the industry. For individuals who have a passion for hacking, SANS Pen Test Austin is the place to be.

"Every organization needs skilled people who know how to find vulnerabilities, understand risk, and help prioritize resources based on mitigating potential real-world attacks. That's what SANS Pen Test Austin is about," said Ed Skoudis, SANS Instructor and NetWars & CyberCity Director. "InfoSec professionals that like to break things, put them back together, find out how they work, and mimic the actions of real-world bad guys, all the while providing real business value to your organization, won't want to miss this event."

Attendees will learn hands-on skills they can apply immediately when they return to their jobs. Courses are available for newbies to highly seasoned information security practitioners and penetration testers. For those new to information security, SANS will offer its introductory SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style. More skilled professionals will benefit from courses like SEC660: Advanced Penetration Testing, Exploit Writing, and Ethical Hacking.

For those wanting to sharpen their skills in a more competitive environment, SANS will host a night of SANS CyberCity missions. CyberCity appears to be a model train set, but underneath the table are the hardware and software systems that operate the real world and participants will be able to defend and attack the city to learn how to protect modern cities from cyber-terrorists and criminals. SANS Pen Test Austin will also feature three exciting nights of the SANS NetWars Experience and much more.
