  • 19 January, 2016

SANS, the global leader in information security training, today announced it is bringing its NetWars Tournament to Asia Pacific (APAC). The first-ever APAC NetWars competition will be held in conjunction with the SANS Secure Singapore 2016 training event taking place 28 March - 9 April.

NetWars is a dynamic cyber range allowing participants to build, practice, and measure their skills in real-world defensive, analytic, and offensive practices. CORE NetWars Tournament is a computer and network security challenge designed to test a participant's experience and skills in a safe environment. It is accessible to a broad level of player skill ranges and is split into separate levels so that advanced players may quickly move through earlier levels to the level of their expertise.

The NetWars Tournament will cover the following skill sets:

  • Vulnerability Assessment
  • Packet Analysis
  • Penetration Testing
  • System Hardening
  • Malware Analysis
  • Digital Forensics and Incident Response

"SANS' NetWars is much more than the typical 'Capture the Flag' challenge - it provides a real-time assessment of participants' Cyber Security skills in a competitive and fun learning environment," said Suresh Mustapha, SANS Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region. "We are excited to host our first-ever Asia Pacific NetWars Tournament in Singapore and look forward to finding out who's the best of the best in our region!"

SANS Secure Singapore 2016 will feature the largest and most exciting lineup of SANS information security courses to date in the APAC region. Cyber Defense, ICS Security, Digital Forensics, and IT Audit disciplines will be covered by top-rated SANS faculty at Secure Singapore. Attendees will learn how the newest cyber attacks work and what can be done to prevent them or mitigate the damage.

The NetWars Tournament is included at no cost for all registered attendees of Secure Singapore. For additional information on the NetWars Tournament 9 April, a list of courses, or to register for SANS Secure Singapore, please visit: www.sans.org/secure-singapore-2016
