SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced that malware expert, Lenny Zeltser, will keynote the SANS Northern Virginia-McLean 2016 training event taking place in McLean Virginia February 15 - 20, 2016. During his keynote address, Zeltser will explain how malicious software operates and present practical steps that security professionals can follow to get started with malware analysis tasks.

"Knowing how to assess the nature of malicious software is a critical skill for incident responders and other hands-on security professionals nowadays. A good way to get started with such efforts involves examining how malware behaves in a controlled laboratory environment," said Zeltser. "For investigators interested in learning more about malware analysis, including what tools and techniques work best, SANS McLean is the place to be. This discussion will help security pros learn how to turn malware inside out."

Zeltser's popular course FOR610: Reverse-Engineering Malware: Malware Analysis Tools and Techniques will also be offered at SANS Northern Virginia-McLean. This in-depth training builds a strong foundation for examining malicious software using a variety of system and network monitoring utilities. It also introduces code analysis techniques that make use of a disassembler, a debugger and other malware introspection tools.
