  • July 14, 2015

SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced SANS Chicago 2015 taking place August 30 - September 4. This hands-on immersion style cyber security training event will offer courses to help cyber security professionals tackle today's most complex cyber security issues. Included among the issues that will be covered is the increasingly complex legal component of data security within investigations.

"New laws on privacy, e-discovery and data security are creating an urgent need for professionals who can bridge the gap between the legal department and the IT department," said SANS Instructor and attorney Benjamin Wright. "My SANS LEG523: Law of Data Security and Investigations course covers the law of contracts, fraud, crime, data breaches, IT security, liability and policy, with a focus on electronically stored and transmitted records. Join me at SANS Chicago 2015 where I will share how to prepare credible, defensible reports, whether for cyber crimes, forensics, incident response, human resource issues and other investigations."

SANS Chicago will offer a range of courses for those new to cyber security as well as highly seasoned professionals. Courses will cover security essentials, hacker tools and techniques and much more. For those preparing for the 2015 version of the CISSP® exam, SANS Chicago will also feature SANS MGT414: SANS Training Program for CISSP® Certification. This accelerated review course, taught by SANS Instructor David R. Miller, has been specifically updated to prepare students to pass the 2015 version of the CISSP exam.
