SANS Institute Aims to Better Prepare the Cybersecurity Workforce with Bay Area Training

Training Event Helps Information Security Professionals Improve Their Skills

  • Bethesda, MD
  • June 3, 2014

SANS today announced it is bringing some of its most popular cybersecurity training and certification courses to the Bay Area with SANS San Francisco 2014, July 14 - 19. From budding security professionals to seasoned experts, attendees of all levels will have the opportunity to enhance their skills by taking advantage of SANS' IT security, security management, and forensics training courses in the city by the Bay.

Paul Henry, information security expert, SANS Senior instructor, and a former SANS student, states, "Achieving my CISSP(R) certification 15 years ago has opened doors that otherwise would be closed. The CISSP(R) certification arguably is one of most sought after 'requirements for entry' by IT Human Resources departments and the demand for capable Infosec professionals has never been higher - it isn't going to decrease any time soon. MGT414 training from SANS has long been recognized as being a solid fast-track to gaining the necessary knowledge to pass the CISSP(R) exam - student feedback shows a 98% pass rate." Paul will be teaching MGT414: SANS +S Training Program for the CISSP(R) Certification Exam at San Francisco.

"Paul is an excellent instructor - the combination of the knowledge and humor makes learning the material easier," said Sean Walsh with Riverbed Technology, a previous SANS San Francisco MGT414 student.

For a preview of the SANS San Francisco training event attend the complimentary webcast hosted by insider Paul Henry, June 5th at 3pm EDT. Visit: Paul will also be sharing his personal journey in information security from his days as a SANS student to SANS Senior Instructor.

SANS San Francisco will provide students with hands-on training by practitioners that understand the daily challenges of IT security professionals. Training includes IT security, security management, and digital forensics courses. The new FOR585: Advanced Smartphone Forensics course will make its San Francisco debut.
