Cyber attacks are on the rise, to avoid becoming the next victim, organizations must re-examine their cyber security efforts. To provide cyber pros with the necessary skills to sharpen their offensive and defensive strategies, SANS today announced it is returning to Orlando for SANS 2014, its largest information security training event of the year. Taking place April 5 - 14, this hands-on training event will provide cyber security professionals with the most up-to-date methods to fend off attackers. SANS 2014 will also feature new courses focusing on advance network forensic and analysis, pen testing, and risk assessment.

The brand new SEC561: Intense Hands-on Pen Testing Skill Development course is SANS' most hands-on course ever. Participants will learn in-depth security capabilities through more than 80 percent hands-on exercises and labs, maximizing keyboard time in-class labs. The MGT415: A Practical Introduction to Risk Assessment course will teach students the practical skills necessary to perform regular risk assessments for their organizations. FOR572: Advanced Network Forensics and Analysis provides students with the tools and methods needed to conduct network investigations within environments of all sizes, using scenarios developed from real-world cases.

When describing his experience at a recent SANS training event, Robert Smith, with CMS, stated "The information is immediately usable in the organization. Moreover, the instructor makes the presentation interesting and real-world, as well as practical and beneficial."

SANS 2014 features more than 40 hands-on technical courses taught by the top security practitioners in the industry. SANS will host NetWars Tournament Play competition, an intense interactive, Internet based environment for computer attacks and defenses. NetWars will be held on April 10 and 11 which will also include a DFIR NetWars Tournament.
