Autonomous Defense Induced Disruption: How AI-Driven Automated Response Can Be Manipulated to Disrupt Enterprise Operations

This research introduces Autonomous Defense Induced Disruption (ADID) as a new attack path. ADID is defined as an attacker technique that triggers automated containment actions in autonomous AI systems by generating high-confidence detection thresholds, causing the defensive system itself to disable enterprise access. The research highlights the need for governance controls, privilege-aware safeguards, and system-level constraints to prevent autonomous containment from causing operational disruption.
