SEC595: Applied Data Science and AI/Machine Learning for Cybersecurity Professionals



Cybersecurity is constantly evolving, but the pace is increasing. The growing trends include significant convergence between traditional "nation state" threat actors and criminal groups. Some nations are using destructive cyber attacks as part of their international policy aims, while others are deploying crime-group tools to get funding while under heavy sanctions. This creates a challenging situation for defenders and responders.
In this talk we will cover the most common pain points and use a case study from a January 2026 intrusion to see how things have evolved.
