Observing microservices is critical due to their increasing complexity and potential failure points. As microservices increasingly incorporate AI agents and workloads, it becomes even more challenging to pinpoint the source of performance problems or security vulnerabilities without comprehensive telemetry. Effective observability allows security teams to monitor the health of every component, understand inter-service communication, and ensure workloads are functioning as expected.

Join SANS Author Ben Allen for Part 4 of the AI-Driven DevSecOps series. In this webcast, Ben will install and configure OpenTelemetry to gather metrics, logs, and traces from a Kubernetes cluster and its resources. With OpenTelemetry installed, attendees will see how to configure a Kong Gateway proxy to gather telemetry for all services protected by the API gateway. Live demonstrations will show how to build dashboards for different HTTP routes, observe the traffic, and trigger alerts during an automated attack. Attendees will walk away understanding how OpenTelemetry can help monitor Kubernetes workloads and aid incident response teams.
