About Ben Allen

Ben Allen is a Cloud Security Engineer at The Voleon Group and a co-author of SEC540: Cloud Native Security and DevSecOps Automation. Ben contributes to cloud-native security and DevSecOps training from the engineering side of the problem, where secure systems depend on automation, usable controls, and hands-on practice. His work on the course labs helps learners practice security automation, CI/CD security, Kubernetes security, observability, infrastructure as code, and secure software delivery in realistic engineering environments.

Ben brings more than two decades of information security experience, including prior roles at SANS Institute and the University of Minnesota. His background includes cloud security architecture, security engineering, application development, monitoring, packet analysis, and policy development.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and seven GIAC certifications.
