SANS Summits are focused events on a specific domain area/topic within cybersecurity such as ICS, DFIR, or leadership. SANS Summits feature presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities that are hosted in-person or virtually by SANS’ world-leading instructors and other thought leaders. SANS Summit events are provided free for virtual attendees and provide an excellent way for the EU Community to access world leading content. Recent Summits in the EU region include the ICS Summit in Munich, the PenTest Hackfest Summit in Amsterdam and the DFIR Europe Summit in Prague.
Next to our vast global library of free resources, SANS has worked hard to also create resources that are relevant to our European community members. Here are two of the most important ones:
The European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF) is a practical tool to support the identification and articulation of tasks, competencies, skills and knowledge associated with the roles of European cybersecurity professionals. To enable you to see which skills are required for these roles and what courses and exercises might help you obtain these skills, we have created an easy-to-use mapping tool for you to discover your potential next training opportunity.
The new NIS2 directive that went into force on January 2023 is going to impact a wide array of organisations as national governments strive to create national legislation by October 17th of 2024. SANS and our instructors have created this hub to serve as a source of information on all you need to know about this new directive as well as resources, infographics, checklists you can use to help prepare yourself and your organisation for this new NIS2 directive.
SANS Community Nights are a great way to stay in touch with your local InfoSec community and to hear the latest in technical wizardry, industry intelligence, and thought leadership from our amazing presenters. The sessions are free of charge to attend, however, as spots are limited and will be allocated on a first-registered basis. Interested in attending? Take a look our upcoming events below to see if we're coming to a location near you!
SANS also hosts a daily podcast through the SANS Internet Storm Center (ISC), which provides free analysis and warning service for thousands of Internet users and organisations. ISC is maintained by handlers with some of the largest networks that report on their findings each day.
SANS and its instructors not only offer the ability to receive training publicly or privately, we also offer resilience exercises for national teams and departments. This helps nations prepare for real-life nation state attacks and help protect vital industries such as healthcare, energy, banking and other critical infrastructure. Over the years, SANS has offered these exercises and advisory sessions to nations across Europe.
SANS Cyber Range Exercises provide an ideal way for the EU community to learn new cyber skills and to test themselves over 125 multi-disciplinary cybersecurity challenges. SANS also runs larger exercises including the Holiday Hack Challenge which is one of the largest Cyber Range Events known across the global cybersecurity community.
Whether you're an individual cyber security practitioner or head of a cyber team, SANS Institute has a training solution tailored to you.
