We were pleased to welcome network members from across Belgium to our first SANS CISO Network event in the country, delivered in partnership with the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB).
SANS CISO Network events are designed to ease the pressure on security decision-makers by providing an environment where ideas, experiences, and lessons learned can be shared among a peer group of influencers and thought leaders.
The network is open exclusively to senior security leaders and brings together a unique community of professionals who have both the appetite and the authority to drive meaningful change. By exchanging insights from a wide range of industries, members of the SANS CISO Network help shape our digital future and contribute to a safer world.
The event was chaired by Professor Ciaran Martin, Head of the SANS CISO Network, and featured a keynote address from Miguel De Bruycker, Director-General of the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium.
This was followed by a great panel discussion with Freddy Dezeure, Deputy CISO for Europe at Microsoft; Johan Klykens, Director of the National Cybersecurity Certification Authority (NCCA); and Mario Beccia, Director for Readiness and Operations within NATO’s Cyber and Digital Transformation Division.
We are excited to continue building this community and look forward to bringing cybersecurity leaders together across Europe in 2026.

Launched in 1989 as a cooperative for information security thought leadership, it is SANS’ ongoing mission to empower cybersecurity professionals with the practical skills and knowledge they need to make our world a safer place.
