Speaker Bios

John Pescatore

John Pescatore joined SANS as director of emerging security trends in January 2013 after more than 13 years as lead security analyst for Gartner, running consulting groups at Trusted Information Systems and Entrust, 11 years with GTE, and service with both the National Security Agency, where he designed secure voice systems, and the U.S. Secret Service, where he developed secure communications and surveillance systems and "the occasional ballistic armor installation." John has testified before Congress about cybersecurity, was named one of the 15 most-influential people in security in 2008 and is an NSA-certified cryptologic engineer.

Jeff Costlow

Jeff Costlow is the CISO at ExtraHop. He started his career in computer security in 1997. Jeff has deep experience with networking protocols, a passion for secure software development and many years of software engineering under his belt.

Chris Hoff

Chris Hoff’s entire career has been deeply rooted in cybersecurity with over 15 years of diverse technical and managerial experience. He is currently driving the Technical Product Marketing effort at ReversingLabs. Prior to joining the team, Chris has held security engineering, sales and product management roles at Sophos, Imperva and Cisco. While at Cisco, where he was part of the Advanced Threat solutions team, he helped customers find hidden threats in their environments. Chris continues to advocate for the human factor in security and has a particular focus on solutions integration and automation allowing companies to better manage risk.

Glenn Taylor

Glenn Taylor is the Director of Professional Services and Training at ThreatConnect. During his time at ThreatConnect, he has focused on streamlining, developing and expanding the Professional Services and implementing a new Learning Management System, which offers users a repository of information and training. He is an Air Force veteran with two overseas deployments and over a decade of intelligence and cyber operations experience. Originally from North Carolina, Glenn currently lives with his wife, Amanda, and 3-year-old son, Trip, in Omaha, NE. In his free time he enjoys golfing, playing board games with friends (no, not Monopoly or Uno), and barbecuing.
