Contact UsEngineers regularly perform risky actions while deploying and operating databases on cloud services like AWS. Engineers are often focused on delivering value to customers and less on the security of the cloud infrastructure. Security teams are increasingly concerned with identifying these cloud-native risks and putting migrations in place to secure their critical data and limit exposure without inhibiting development workflows or velocity. This paper examines several common AWS database security risks and addresses how to implement detection and prevention controls to mitigate the risks.
