About Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson is a Principal Industrial Consultant at Dragos and a SANS Certified Instructor teaching ICS515: ICS Visibility, Detection, and Response. He has spent his career supporting critical infrastructure operators and government organizations across APAC and North America, working across mainly power and water utilities, oil and gas, manufacturing, and transport sectors.

What makes Peter effective in the classroom is straightforward: he provides a pragmatic engineering voice in building programs, conducting assessments, and leading tabletop exercises in live industrial environments. With a career spent in ICS/OT environments, he brings operational reality directly into instruction. His roots are in control and safety systems–as a previously certified Functional Safety Engineer, he approaches ICS security from first principles, connecting visibility, detection, and response to the consequence models that engineers and operators already think in. Students leave with skills they can apply in environments where safety and uptime are the first as foremost, not an afterthought.

Beyond his consulting work, Peter is an active contributor to the ICS/OT security community. He is well known for talks and workshops across the APAC (NZ, AUS, Singapore, etc.) region for ~10 years. Since relocating to Canada, he has continued that community focus while contributing to national and international standards work.
