Cristian began his career as a systems and network administrator before advancing into security operations and consultancy. For the past decade, he has worked with government, energy, financial and commercial organizations on network defense, incident response, and SOC process development. His experience with organizations across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa fuse a global perspective into his course, showing learners how to adapt to different infrastructures, regulations, and threat landscapes.
Cristian earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Telecommunications Engineering from the University POLITEHNICA Bucharest. He is a GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED), Certified Information Systems Security Professional, and credentialed ISO 27001 Auditor. Beyond certifications, Cristian has contributed to research on AI adoption, knowledge dynamics, and model-driven approaches to cyber resilience. He is also a faculty member of the SANS Technology Institute, an NSA Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, and a multi-year winner of the National Cyber League competition.
Cristian is known for his enthusiastic and structured teaching style. His course creates an environment where every analyst can build skill through clarity, repetition, and mentorship. Guided by the belief that great analysis starts with great mentorship, he fosters collaboration in every class, encouraging students to share insights and solve problems together, mirroring how strong SOC teams operate in the field.
Outside of work, Cristian enjoys sailing, travel, and exploring new technologies; pursuits that mirror the curiosity and precision he brings to cybersecurity.
