Brian Mazanec is a Deputy Assistant Secretary and Director of the Center for Preparedness within the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) as well as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Coordination Operations and Response Element (H-CORE).
ASPR’s Center for Preparedness helps advance a full range of preparedness activities for public health emergencies and disasters, including leading the Medical Reserve Corps, National Special Pathogen System, Hospital Preparedness Program, Secretary’s Operations Center, Healthcare and Public Health sector cybersecurity and infrastructure protection, HHS continuity of operations and continuity of government activities, and departmental planning and exercises. The Center for Preparedness leads and enables agile, data-driven operational coordination and scalable response for public health emergencies and disasters, including infectious disease outbreaks and cyber-attacks. Prior to his current role, Brian served as Deputy Director of the ASPR Center for Preparedness and the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Security, Intelligence, and Information Management.
