Contact UsFor 250 years, defending the nation has been America's core mission. Today that mission runs through the power plants, pipelines, bases, ports, and industrial facilities that keep the country running.

Michael Harrison, SANS Director of Public Sector and former U.S. Army officer, and Robert M. Lee, SANS Fellow and Army National Guard Lieutenant Colonel, on what defending the nation looks like in 2026. Watch now.
A nation's strength has always depended on protecting what sustains it. In 2026, that means the power grid, water systems, pipelines, military installations, and industrial facilities the country runs on. Securing those systems is a federal mission and the White House named it a top national security priority this year.
SANS CEO, James Lyne, and Jason Christopher, SANS ICS Certified Instructor —on the threats, the gaps, and what closing them actually looks like.

The course content was excellent, providing a comprehensive and clear overview of ICS and critical infrastructure security. The topics were highly relevant and practical, addressing key differences between IT and OT security, as well as offering insights into attack history, modern adversaries, and the impacts on industrial systems. I particularly appreciated the detailed exploration of OT incident response management and industrial cyber risk management. The information was well-structured, and the content was easy to understand, which made it highly applicable to my role in information security. Overall, a highly valuable learning experience.
As our C4 systems become netcentric and more linked with our weapons systems, it is essential that our IA workforce be up to the task of securing our networks. I am proud to be on the cyber defense line with such a competent industry partner that understands the needs of the defense department and is willing to work with us to help accomplish this difficult task.
