GIAC Enterprises is in the business of selling online fortunes. This paper describes the company's network, and details the configuration of the primary router, firewall and VPN device, lists the results of an audit, and reviews the weaknesses in the network of a competing firm. GIAC Enterprises is a startup company that is in the business of selling online fortune cookie sayings. The company has been in business for three years, having developed a prototype system just before the 'dot com crash'. The company brought on board a new CTO who has just completed the next-generation product including a new network infrastructure. The release has been helped by the addition of two new suppliers Fortune Cookies Inc. and Online Fortunes Inc. which provide fortunes and their partner IACG a Swiss corporation that is reselling GIAC Enterprises' product. Sales engineers with IACG and with the two remote sales offices (in Seattle and Boston) are beginning to pull in customers and all the legacy customers have been migrated to the new system.
