Overview

Multiple business and technical factors are driving upstream and downstream oil and gas providers to secure the industrial control systems that are the foundation of their operations.

As one of the largest off-shore drilling contractors in the world, Diamond Offshore supports a range of very well-known operators who are frequently targeted by determined cyber adversaries. Cyber security has become a top priority for Diamonds customers and implementing a comprehensive risk management program for its offshore platforms has become fundamental enabler for its business objectives and revenue goals.

The team from Diamond Offshore responsible for building the companys innovative OT security program will discuss the business drivers and technical solution they implemented over the last year. The talk will include a discussion about the real-time anomaly detection, 24x7 security monitoring capability, and global security operations center Diamond has operationalized to protect its most valuable assets and ensure the safety of rig personnel.

Speaker Bios

Greg Villano

Gregory has over 25 years of experience with industrial automation & control systems. During this time, he has held electrical maintenance and management related positions across a variety of industries including stone quarrying / manufacturing, hygiene / forest product manufacturing, and the maritime industry. The past thirteen years he has been working within the offshore oil & gas sector of the energy industry, with the last two years dedicated specifically to industrial automation and control system cybersecurity. 

He is currently the Industrial Automation & Control System Superintendent for Diamond Offshore Drilling and one of the two technical leads for the IACS Cyber Security program related to the protection of Diamond Offshore’s vessels and drilling assets located around the globe.  He actively participates in several IACS cyber workgroups and panels and actively researches new emerging threats to the IACS landscapes.


Matt Morris

Matt leads strategic direction, development and growth for Cisco’s Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions & Services portfolio, as well as Industrial Cybersecurity (Secure Ops) globally. Known as a visionary, he is routinely employed to “see around corners,” detecting market transitions and then setting technical direction and roadmaps to achieve extraordinary results. Matt is a highly sought-after speaker on the topics of IoT, Digitization, Technical Transformation and Industrial Cybersecurity.

Matt has a broad range of industry experience including: Energy & Manufacturing, Industrial Control Systems, Smart Cities, Enterprise Software, High Tech, Management Consulting, Financial Services and Education.

Matt received an Executive MBA from Emory University – Goizueta Business School and a B.S. in Information Systems from Kennesaw State University. He has received numerous awards and accolades over his 5+ years at Cisco, including the Pioneer Award and more than 18 others awards or accolades.


Patrick McBride

Patrick is the Chief Marketing Officer of Claroty. Prior to joining the company, he was the Vice President of Marketing and Communications at iSIGHT Partners (now FireEye). At iSIGHT Partners Mr. McBride was responsible for defining the global threat intelligence market and was a key advocate for security professionals shifting from attack response to proactive preparation. Before iSIGHT Partners, Patrick led global marketing at privileged identity management company, Xceedium Inc. ,and was co-founder & CEO of META Security Group, a security and compliance software and consulting company, and was a Senior Vice President of META Group (now Gartner), where he led the Global Research Team’s network security and IT operations practice.
