The Black History Month BootUp CTF is a beginner- and intermediate-level, challenge-based cybersecurity exercise that provides hands-on practice in a safe, gamified environment.
Participants complete gamified challenges that introduce and reinforce practical cybersecurity concepts through problem solving and experimentation. No prior professional cybersecurity experience is required.
This event can serve as an early, low-risk way to explore hands-on cybersecurity challenges and validate personal interest in technical training before committing to more formal coursework. It supports skill exploration and practice but is not a certification, training course, or a direct pathway to employment.
The BootUp CTF is open to all participants and is held during Black History Month to honor the celebration and encourage broad participation in hands-on cybersecurity learning.
The Orientation Webinar will take place on February 26 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Eastern Time. The webinar will cover key details about the Black History Month CTF, explain what to expect from the challenge, and include time for questions and answers. Participants will also receive an overview of the platforms used during the event. Both technical and non-technical questions are welcome.
The Black History Month BootUp CTF will begin on February 27 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time and conclude on March 2 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.
By submitting this registration, participants will be registered for both the Orientation Webinar and the Black History Month BootUp CTF hosted on the Ranges.io platform.
