Rob van der Veer is an AI security pioneer with more than 34 years of experience in artificial intelligence and software engineering. He is Chief AI Officer at Software Improvement Group and founder of the OWASP AI Exchange, an official collaboration between the global security community and Standards Development Organizations.
The Exchange’s body of knowledge underpins leading international standards, including ISO/IEC 27090 and the EU AI Act cybersecurity standard prEN 18282, for which Rob serves as elected co-editor. SANS Institute is a strategic partner in this endeavor. He is also the main author of ISO/IEC 5338 on the AI system lifecycle.
Rob regularly advises governments, enterprises, and public institutions worldwide, and teaches in the Chief AI Officer program at the Abu Dhabi School of Management.
