Rick Miles is Vice President of Product Management, Cloud and Network Security, a $1B+ business for the Cisco Infrastructure and Security Group. In his role, he focuses on developing the Hybrid Mesh Firewall architecture and portfolio, bringing together virtual, physical, cloud-native, application and container-native firewalls with a unified management plane to give customers effective segmentation and security controls in increasingly complex operational environments. This portfolio includes Secure Firewall, Virtual Firewall, Secure Workload, Hypershield, Firepower Management Center, and Multicloud Defense. In addition, Rick is also responsible for Security Cloud Control, the platform services bringing together all of Cisco's Security products into one experience.
Prior to this role, Rick was a senior leader at Zscaler, responsible for Zscaler Private Access and emerging technologies, including AppProtection/WAF, Deception, Cloud Browser Isolation, Privileged Remote Access, and Risk Analytics. There he drove the strategic vision and growth of his product line, bringing the business from under $100M ARR to over $410M ARR in less than two years. Prior to Zscaler, he led the Threat and Emerging Products at Proofpoint. Additionally, Rick has a background in the US Army focused on cybersecurity, communications, and intelligence, leading technical teams ranging from 20 to 1,100 soldiers. He then finished his time in the military teaching and running the cybersecurity and military intelligence branch programs at West Point. Rick is passionate about the security space, building innovative products that customers love, and leading high-performing teams committed to product excellence. Rick holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer architecture from West Point and an MBA from Columbia University. He lives in Los Gatos, CA with his wife and four children. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and basketball, as well as coaching his kids’ sports teams.
