Contact UsMichael Ball assumed the role as NERC senior vice president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) in April 2025. He is responsible for the management and oversight of the E-ISAC and leading security operations and information sharing, threat intelligence and analysis, and stakeholder engagement initiatives designed to protect critical electricity infrastructure in North America. He collaborates closely with the diverse E-ISAC members and external stakeholders and with federal, provincial, and state partners to share critical information to safeguard the grid in the ever-changing threat landscape. Mr. Ball also serves as the E-ISAC’s representative to important constituencies, such as the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council (ESCC), government partners, and key industry groups and leads the E-ISAC’s strategic planning initiatives.
Prior to joining NERC, Mr. Ball served as senior vice president and chief security officer for Berkshire Hathaway Energy, where he led a security team focused on strategic global cyber and physical security policies and practices. During his 27 years with the company, he also led the risk management program and PacifiCorp’s quality assurance and business continuity teams.
Mr. Ball serves as a member of the Audit Committee for the Oregon Community Foundation.
