About Kyla Guru

AI & Security @ Anthropic | Founder/CEO, Bits N' Bytes Cybersecurity Education Corp. | Co-Founder, GirlCon Conference

Kyla is 23 years old and already reimagining the future of cybersecurity. When she was 14, Kyla discovered her passion for human-centered cybersecurity after learning that 90% of cyberattacks stem from human error. To combat this, she founded Bits N' Bytes Cybersecurity Education Corp (BNBCE), an international 501(c)(3) that distributes curriculum to schools and partners with corporations like Meta and IBM to increase cybersecurity awareness. She also co-founded GirlCon Tech, an international conference that has united 4,000+ students and professionals across eight years to bridge the gender gap in technology.

Kyla has championed her message on national and international stages including TEDx, NIST's NICE Conference, RSA Conference, and TechCrunch Disrupt. At Stanford, she earned her BS and MS in Computer Science, led the first all-female cyber team to national championships, and co-founded Women in National Security @ Stanford. Today, Kyla serves as Model Cyber Safety Lead at Anthropic, where she builds detection systems and policies to prevent AI-enabled cyber threats. For her work, she has been honored as Crain Chicago's Top 50 in Tech, a Stanford She++ fellow, a Harvard Book Prize Award winner.
