Kate Marshall

Kate Marshall has dedicated her career to making complex technologies easier to understand and more accessible to leaders and decision-makers. For 18 years at the SANS Institute, she played a key role in developing courseware, supporting curriculum strategy, and leading marketing teams. Most recently, she served as Director of Summits, where she led a talented team to produce world-class training events that brought together cybersecurity thought leaders from around the globe. During her time, Kate also co-chaired the AI Cybersecurity Summit and launched the first AI Hackathon at SANS, underscoring her ability to connect cutting-edge innovation with real-world impact.

Today, Kate is the Founder and lead AI Strategist of TheGrai (thegr.ai), where she focuses on safe AI adoption for executives and non-technical teams. She helps organizations implement AI responsibly and strategically, driving productivity while keeping security front-of-mind. Her consulting work blends expertise in project management, emerging technologies, and workforce enablement to accelerate transformation.

In addition to her executive work, Kate is the author of three children’s books introducing kids to emerging technologies and online safety. Passionate about continuous learning and future-proofing organizations, she brings a unique mix of operational excellence, creative storytelling, and strategic foresight to the rapidly evolving world of AI and cybersecurity.
