Julie Davila

Julie Davila believes the hardest problems are best tackled with a team you can trust. That conviction has guided her through a career that started in the US Army and wound through some of the more consequential moments in modern infrastructure security: helping implement the first federal AWS migration at NASA, building early automation integrations at Ansible, growing a consulting practice at Red Hat, and co-founding ZibaSec, which earned FedRAMP authorization in under two years with a team of ten.

Today she leads Product Security at GitLab, where her team works to make secure software development faster and less painful for the engineers building critical infrastructure worldwide.

Outside work, she mentors women and veterans entering tech and cybersecurity, and plays competitive ice hockey. She thinks diverse teams solve harder problems, that loyalty to employees matters even when it's inconvenient, and that the most important vulnerabilities are usually not where everyone is looking.
