Javid Bakhtiani is an Incident and Response Recovery Engineer at Rethinking Consulting Services (RTCS), a cybersecurity and managed IT firm based in the Washington D.C. area. His work spans incident response, systems administration, and client-facing security consulting across multiple managed environments. He has led recovery efforts for multi-site ransomware engagements involving legacy Hyper-V infrastructure, Active Directory remediation, and EDR deployment, and regularly works hands-on with forensic triage, network hardening, and recovery prioritization under time pressure. Javid is passionate about practical, real-world incident response and sharing lessons learned from engagements where the textbook playbook met a far messier reality.
