Jason Higley

Jason Higley is the Founder and Principal of SG Consulting, a boutique private investigations and digital forensics consulting firm based in Washington, DC. A retired federal law enforcement officer, Jason has more than 20 years of investigative experience and over 15 years of experience in computer and mobile forensics.

Previously, Jason served as a Senior Special Agent and Digital Forensic Examiner with the U.S. Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, where he conducted sensitive criminal and internal investigations involving fraud, public corruption, and cyber-related crimes. He began his federal law enforcement career with the U.S. Secret Service Washington Field Office.

Jason has more than 1,000 hours of formal training in computer and mobile forensics and expertise in the examination of Windows and Mac computers, iOS and Android devices, wearable devices, and drones. He holds the EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME), and Magnet Certified Forensic Examiner (MCFE) credentials.

He is a two-time recipient of the Alexander Hamilton Award and a recipient of the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award.
