Jamie Phillips has led efforts to build and manage an engaging, interactive security awareness and training program at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana. Through the Cyber Shield program and its Cyber Shield Ambassadors, Jamie and his team have moved cybersecurity from the exclusive realm of IT into day-to-day awareness for the entire organization. Not only does the program deputize the entire workforce to the front lines, it has demystified cybersecurity, allowing workforce members to reach out for answers that affect not only the organization but also their personal lives.
Over the past eight years, Jamie has partnered with other areas of the company and developed a marketing approach to successfully increase workforce engagement. Cyber Shield is now an instantly recognizable and respected entity with proven results in improving the overall security culture of the company.
Jamie is no stranger to the SANS Community. He currently holds several GIAC certifications and is one of the ten recipients of the 2019 SANS Difference Maker Award for his innovative efforts at Blue Cross and around the community.
