George Sandford is the founder of Ok2Ask4Help, an organization dedicated to making it easier for people to seek help in cybersecurity and beyond. He knows there are many barriers—both real and perceived—that keep people from asking for assistance, and that these barriers can harm our work, mental health, and overall well-being. Through Ok2Ask4Help, George works to break down those obstacles and provide the encouragement and support people need to pursue meaningful careers and lives.
With over 25 years in security and IT, George is a seasoned professional who builds resilient, customer-centric teams through mentorship, community engagement, and thoughtful leadership. An advocate for mental health, for those new to cyber, and for expanding the field to include people from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, he's passionate about the human side of cybersecurity—creating psychologically safe spaces and helping people reach their potential. For George, strengthening cybersecurity means supporting and empowering the people doing the work and connecting them with other practitioners committed to building a strong, positive community and defending what matters.
