Erik Buchanan

Erik is Head of AI at Semgrep. Previously he led AI engineering for LinkedIn's hiring products, and built an education program called AI Academy there to drive LinkedIn's AI-first shift. Erik also led engineering for tech startups Connectifier and CloseFactor.  He worked on the early versions of Microsoft Azure and Bing Search, and built big-data systems at Google. Erik's graduate research at UC San Diego was in Return-Oriented Programming, an exploit technique.
