Deniz D. is currently a Project Manager and Investigator at Birdwatcher Group where his work focuses on security sector reform and investigations. An OSINT researcher and practitioner by tradecraft that specialises in criminal investigations and countering disinformation, with extensive experience investigating international crimes, conflict-related violence, and sanctions evasion. Deniz holds an LLM degree in Advanced Studies in Public International Law (International Criminal Law track) from Leiden University. More specifically, he is the former Lead OSINT Specialist at the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), where he worked with Ukrainian government agencies on accountability for international crimes and co-founder of the OSINT for Ukraine Foundation in the Netherlands which went from a student collective to an international foundation working with EU law enforcement organisations within 3 years. He is an experienced educator and trainer, who has taught OSINT tradecraft and related topics to professionals and students at leading Dutch and international institutions. He is also the co-creator of the Amsterdam Matrix, developed together with academics and practitioners from the University of Amsterdam to evaluate the trustworthiness of OSINT analysis on social media.
