David Caswell is the Public Sector Security AI Leader for Microsoft’s Office of the CISO where he focuses on enabling the US Government organization to accelerate their security posture through the application of AI capabilities. With over twenty years of experience as a technologist specializing in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, David focuses on identifying, developing, and integrating capabilities that enhance the security of AI services for US Government agencies while improving the efficacy of their cybersecurity workforce.
A retired Air Force officer, David has held various roles, including directing global network operations for the US Air Force and developing an undergraduate cybersecurity major for offensive and defensive engagements. His recent roles include serving as a Managing Director overseeing Cyber-AI offerings for Deloitte’s US Government sector, driving critical infrastructure engineering work at Microsoft, and serving as the Permanent Professor and Head of the United States Air Force Academy’s Department of Computer and Cyber Sciences. David's PhD research at Stanford University’s Management Science and Engineering program developed AI techniques for application to national policy decisions.
