His day-to-day work now spans building and running a citywide security and compliance program, advising MSPs and enterprises on SOC and XDR strategy, and helping leadership teams turn security from a cost line into a business enabler. Chuck is known for turning messy, real-world constraints into practical security moves in areas such as OT and ICS protection, AI-driven threats, detection and response, third-party and MSP risk, and Zero Trust-driven identity controls.

Chuck is also a seasoned public voice for the industry. He has spoken at major conferences including RSA Conference, Black Hat, MSP Summit, and ESET World, where his sessions focus on incident stories, what went wrong in the first 24 hours, and what changed afterward. His commentary and writing have appeared in outlets such as Forbes, Dark Reading, CSO Online, and Cybersecurity Dive, with a focus on AI, ransomware, insider risk, and practical risk reduction rather than theory.

In addition to his enterprise and public-sector roles, Chuck founded Mimic Cyber Solutions, a vCISO and advisory firm based in Wisconsin. Across all of these roles, he is most at home sitting with leaders and teams, breaking down real incidents, and turning war stories into clear, repeatable playbooks.
