Ben Scott

Ben Scott is a Public Sector Systems Engineer at Fortinet with over a decade of experience in network security and ICS/OT cybersecurity. He holds an M.S. in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University and numerous industry certifications. Drawing on prior roles at Dragos, Inc., Ben partners with Ohio’s state and local governments to drive secure digital transformation, protecting networks, data, and critical infrastructure from evolving cyber threats while building sustainable, converged security programs.

Ben leads the Water Assist Mission for the Ohio Cyber Reserve, coordinating cyber defense for water and wastewater utilities statewide. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Columbus State Community College, teaching Ethical Hacking and Computer Forensics. An active leader in Ohio’s cybersecurity community, Ben serves as a Board Member for the Columbus (CS)²AI Chapter and Deputy Director of Speakers for Central Ohio ISSA. His contributions have earned recognition including The Advocate’s 20 Under 40 in 2022, the Distinguished Graduate Award from WGU in 2023, and a Resolution of Outstanding Attainment from the Ohio State Senate.
