BootUp CTF

Train. Compete. Level up. Designed for teams new to cybersecurity or looking to reinforce the basics, BootUp CTF offers an immersive, challenge-driven experience that builds real-world skills across essential security disciplines.

What is BootUp CTF?

BootUp CTF is SANS’s introductory Capture the Flag (CTF) exercise, delivered on the ranges.io platform, and designed for those new to cybersecurity as well as practitioners looking to build or reinforce foundational skills. The challenge provides hands-on exposure to multiple core disciplines, including web exploitation, digital forensics, network analysis, cryptography, and data analysis. Through practical, scenario-based challenges, participants develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for real-world cybersecurity work.

  • Cryptography and data analysis

Platform: ranges.io (accessible via a web browser on Windows, macOS, or Linux).

Modality: In-Person, Live Online or Hybrid SANS BootUp CTF is a 72-hours program that includes an introduction to the SANS platform, 48 hours of continuous play, and the option to include a half-day (3 hours) instructor-led debrief for up to 40 participants.

Intended Audience: Organizations seeking private team-based events

Venue: The venue is to be provided by the client and is exclusive of the program price.

Cost: 40,000 USD (Up to 40 participants)
