In this webcast, we begin the series by engaging in an insightful conversation with Julia Gately about her journey into this exciting career.

About Julia

Julia Gately has been working in digital forensics since 2018, when she started part-time in the St. Joseph County Cyber Crimes Unit as a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame. As a sworn-in investigator, she worked on cases for the county homicide, SVU, and drug units, as well as the local police departments. Over the course of her time at Cyber Crimes, she was the primary investigator on 26 cases, and worked on a total of 49. After graduating, she joined the corporate world as a forensic technology associate in Chicago, where she has been working since June 2021. Julia obtained her MCFE in college, and is a GIAC Advanced Smartphone Forensics certified examiner. She is in the process of studying for her GCFE. Julia is passionate about mobile forensics and seeking justice for those who can't. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, reading, and exploring the latest video games.
