Contact UsSelf-replicating, self-propagating, malicious programs (worms) are described in the context of being likely attack mechanisms for a variety of illicit or illegal activities. A brief discussion of what constitutes a typical worm is given, along with a brief history of worms, reasons they may be released, and who might gain from their use. A proposal for future worms is presented. Finally, current and future (proposed) defenses are presented and discussed in light of potential new threats.
