16:35-16:55 - Threat Wars: The empire shifts left

Speaker:

Synopsis: There is no wrong way of doing security - every activity that reduces risk for an organisation is a win. Most security teams (in all industry verticals) now strive to Shift Left so as to reap the benefits it has to offer, but typically still fail to go further left than the build phase of their software development lifecycle. This can come at a significant cost, especially for those who have embraced the cloud and infrastructure-as-code.

In this talk we'll discuss the efficient way of doing security, by exploring the final frontier of Shift Left: automated threat modelling and secure design for cloud-native environments.

16:55-17:15 - Building the Team Dream

Speaker:

  • Ed Tucker, Senior Director Cyber Security, The Workplace and former European CISO of the year 2017

Synopsis: A talk that brings together different experiences which help cultivate a successful recruitment, onboarding and ongoing security team build. Ed will bring his own experiences, from frustration to success and round again, to highlight areas where, by being different, you can reap the rewards! Simple methods that can make a huge difference!
