Providing information security expertise to clients is a profession that can easily end up being driven by inaccurate assumptions and the wrong approach. Hear how one SANS alumni member has taken the skills learned from SANS and used them to develop a methodology for other professionals to avoid the common mistakes, and provide real improvements to information security.

About Edward:

Edward started his career in IT in 1995. During the early stages of his career, he directly felt the impact of âpeople in the knowâ shutting newcomers out from learning by treating their expertise as a trump card which should not be shared.

These experiences shaped his perspective and he has strong beliefs in inclusion, and sharing of knowledge. He takes particular focus on ensuring that the complexity of information security is removed and the real underlying message is understandable by the layman.

He has taken this approach and woven it directly into his approach to consulting to deliver what clients want, by taking away the noise and allowing them to make decisions based on what the real issues are for their business.
