Speaker Bio

Dean Sapp

Dean Sapp is a long time SANS student with 24 years of combined information security and IT experience. He is an information security practitioner and the Director of Information Security for a large consumer finance company based in the Western states. He leads a team of security professionals protecting multiples lines of business and is a leader in developing, evangelizing and implementing cost effective and robust security programs. Dean has a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and is pursuing an MSISM degree from the SANS Technology Institute. He also owns a small security consulting company, IT Security Matters, LLC specializing in risk mitigation services for the legal vertical. In his free time, Dean enjoys Spartan Races, CrossFit and other activities that are physically and mentally challenging.
